Located at the Fairgrounds entrance, the Museum has been designated by the Cochran family as a permanent depository for Eddie Cochran memorabilia. The Museum will be open until 5 pm throughout the weekend. Admission is $2.

 16th April 2006 - Easter Sunday - This actual date in 1960 was when Eddie Cochran with Gene Vincent did their last show together, at the Bristol Hippodrome. Showtime Enterprises are going to have a fund raising event which be hosted by the Ace Cafe London.   

 

 THIS IS THE RUN-DOWN OF WHAT IS HAPPENING ON EASTER SUNDAY THE 16TH APRIL 2006.

WE SHALL BE AT BRISTOL HIPPODROME FOR 10AM

THERE WILL BE LIVE MUSIC FROM THE BAND RED HOT AND ROCKIN' GERRY.

THEY WILL PERFORM TOGETHER AND BE SINGING SEVERAL OF EDDIES NO 1 HIT SONGS. WE SHALL BE PRESENTING THE BRISTOL HIPPODROME WITH A PLAQUE COMMEMORATING EDDIE COCHRAN.

WE ARE ENCOURAGING ANY ONE WHO WANTS TO JOIN US WITH 195Os STYLE  VEHICLES CARS OR BIKES AND IF THEY DON'T HAVE THAT THEY CAN COME IN ANY VEHICLE THEY WANT TO. JOIN OUR CAVALCADE TO THE ACE CAFE.

 The Eddie Cochran Cherished Memories Weekender is confirmed and will be held from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th April 2006 (the Easter Holiday weekend), and will be held at The Olympiad, Monkton Park, Chippenham.

The event is being organised by the Chippenham Eddie Cochran Weekender Team to preserve the memory of Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and the legends of the 50's & 60's rock-n-roll eras.

A superb line up of top international artistes from the USA, France, Italy, Holland and the UK have been booked to perform over the three days, and it is anticipated that up to 2500 visitors from the UK and abroad will attend the event.

BBC Radio Wiltshire's 'Saturday Night Rock-n-Roll Party' will be live from the venue on Saturday 15th April. Producer/Presenter 'Geoff Barker' will compere the show over the weekend.


Throughout the weekend visitors can browse around the record, clothing and memorabilia stalls and on Sunday morning gather at the 'Cherished Memories Plaque' to pay homage to Eddie Cochran.

Eddie Cochran Rock n Roll 60s Night - The Hungry Horse

APRIL 16 2005, CHIPPENHAM

 TWO of Chippenhams most popular bands, The Zig-Zag Band and Halle Bop Trio, are getting together for a night of Rock 'n' Roll 60s music this month.

The event takes place at The Hungry Horse, Bath Road, Chippenham, and the the date coincides with the fatal car crash that killed Eddie Cochran age 22, just outside the venue in 1960.

The music starts at 9pm and entry to the event is free.

Mike Morrissey from The Zig-Zag Band said: '' We have over 50 gigs booked this year but this was the first one to go in our diary. We will play a mixture of 50s and 60s music with a 'good time' theme.

"Come along, sing, dance and be merry and celebrate the influential music from Eddie's era.''
